Remilekun Ajayi, winner of Launch my Beauty Product Skincare edition

After an intensive four-week beauty business training programme, five selected participants embarked on a journey to develop their skills in product formulation, business development, and brand building. Today, we celebrate one outstanding participant who has emerged as the winner and will now progress to the next stage of her entrepreneurial journey.

🚀 From Training to Transformation

The Launch My Beauty Product initiative was created to address a critical gap in the beauty industry — the lack of access to structured training, mentorship, and resources for aspiring entrepreneurs.

Throughout the programme, participants received:

Starter kits with tools and raw materials for product formulation A comprehensive formulation manual Practical guidance on building a viable beauty business Access to coaching and a collaborative learning environment

Beyond technical knowledge, participants gained something even more valuable — confidence, clarity, and belief in their ability to build a beauty brand.

Many participants described the experience as “a dream come true,” highlighting the importance of access and opportunity in unlocking entrepreneurial potential.

🌟 Introducing Phase 2: Product Development & Launch

With Phase 1 complete, the journey continues.

The winner will now move into Phase 2, where we will work closely with her to:

Develop her beauty brand Formulate and refine her products and prepare for market launch

She will be launching two beauty products, marking the transition from learning to real business creation.

This stage represents a crucial step in turning knowledge into tangible outcomes — a fully developed, market-ready beauty brand.

💼 Driving Economic Empowerment Through Beauty Entrepreneurship

At Ene Naturals, our vision extends beyond training programmes. We are committed to building a thriving ecosystem of beauty entrepreneurs in Nigeria by equipping individuals with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to succeed.

Through initiatives like Launch My Beauty Product, we aim to:

Promote economic empowerment through entrepreneurship Enable wealth creation within local communities Support the growth of the natural beauty industry in Africa Encourage knowledge transfer to future generations

By investing in people, we are contributing to a future where more African-owned beauty brands emerge, scale, and compete globally.

👀 What’s Next?

The journey doesn’t end here.

As Phase 2 unfolds, we will be sharing updates on product development, brand creation, and the launch process. This is an opportunity to witness — in real time — how a beauty idea evolves into a fully realised business.

And for those who missed this cohort, more opportunities are on the horizon.

The completion of Phase 1 marks a significant milestone — not just for the participants, but for the broader mission of empowering the next generation of beauty entrepreneurs.

From five participants to one winner, this initiative demonstrates what is possible when opportunity meets preparation.

The future of African beauty is being built — one entrepreneur at a time.

Stop Making Products. Start Building a Brand.

The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything

There was a mindset shift that changed everything for me in my beauty business journey.

I stopped thinking like someone who makes products, and I started thinking like someone who builds a business.

At the beginning, like many people in the beauty industry, my focus was on the product — the ingredients, the textures, the formulations, and the results. I was asking questions like: How do I make this product? How do I improve this formula? How do I make this texture better?

But at some point, I realised that making a good product and building a successful business are not the same thing.

That realisation changed the way I approached everything.

I stopped thinking only about formulation and started thinking about:

Who is this product for? What problem is it solving? How much does it cost to produce? What is the profit margin? What packaging is suitable for this market? What regulations do I need to comply with? Is this product scalable? Where will this product be sold? Is this a product… or is this a brand?

That was the mindset shift.

I moved from thinking like a formulator to thinking like a founder.

And when you start thinking like a founder, your decisions change. You become more strategic. You become more structured. You become more intentional. You stop guessing and start planning.

Many people know how to make products. That is a skill.

But building a brand requires structure, strategy, and long-term thinking.

If you are in the beauty industry, this is something worth thinking about:

Are you focusing on making products, or are you focusing on building a business?

Because the answer to that question will determine the decisions you make, the way you price, the way you package, the way you launch, and ultimately, whether you are running a hobby… or building a brand.

Sometimes, the biggest change in business is not a new product, a new logo, or a new supplier.

Sometimes, the biggest change is a mindset shift.

You’ve Found a Manufacturer… But Do You Have the Product?

Many beauty startups get excited once they find a manufacturer.
It feels like a major step forward — and it is.

But finding a manufacturer is not the same as having a product ready to launch.

Before production can begin, you need a product that has been properly developed from the ground up. That means a formula aligned with your brand vision, your target market, your product goals, and the standards required for the market you want to sell in.

This is where many founders get stuck.

They know the type of product they want to create. They may even know the look, texture, and audience they are aiming for. But they do not yet have the technical product development support needed to turn that concept into something real, compliant, and ready for manufacturing.

That is where my service comes in.

I help beauty startups develop compliant, market-ready prototypes based on their brand requirements. This means I work with founders to understand the product they want to launch, then develop a formula and prototype that can be taken to their chosen manufacturer for production.

Beyond product development, I also provide support with CPSR and certification requirements to help position products for sale in international markets. This is especially important for founders who want to launch with confidence and avoid costly mistakes later in the process.

A manufacturer can produce your product. But first, you need the right product to produce.

If you are a beauty founder with an idea, a vision, and even a manufacturer lined up — but you still need help developing the actual product — this service was created for you.

Ready to launch properly? Get in touch and let’s develop your product the right way.
